iDAS Data Acquisition System
|
|
New-Sense Geophysics builds and maintains its own proprietary data acquisition systems
known as iDAS. The iDAS system features the
KroumVS Instraments
Kmag4 magnetometer counter and the KANA8 analog to digital converter. The systems are
built with a wide range voltage input   (9v to 32v)   to accommodate a variety of
aircraft power supplies.
The iDAS system uses sophisticated software to provide an autonomous
"Operatorless" system resulting in a SAFER
survey environments by removing the need for an operator on board the aircraft.

iNAV Pilot Navigation System
|
|
|
Pilot Friendly Navigation display (iNAV) delivers all the navigation and control features necessary
for the pilot to safely
maintain the highest quality flight
line specifications without additional
safety
risk of having an operator on board the aircraft.

RSI RSX-500 Spectrometer and Crystal Pack
|
|
|
New-Sense Geophysics uses exclusively the
Radiation Solutions
RS-500 digital airborne gamma-ray spectrometer in 16L X 5 crystal configuration designed for
the detection and measurement of low-level radiation. When flying remote areas,
in extreme weather conditions, and with a limited flight budget, it is important to
know you have the technology you need to gather high quality radiological survey data,
accurately the first time. The RS-500's advanced technology and software techniques provide
laboratory levels of spectral data performance that were previously unachievable
on airborne platforms, assuring the user the highest quality data every time resulting
in the highest quality Spectrometry maps ("mouse-over" at left).

Scintrex CS-3 Magnetometer Sensor
|
|
|
New-Sense Geophysics uses only the Scintrex
CS-3 Magentomter sensor. The CS-3 offers the highest sensitivity and
lowest noise of any Cesium magnetometer on the market,
with automatic hemisphere switching and a wide voltage range. In addition to having the maximum
active zone and minimum
dead zones, it also maintains the smallest heading errors, resulting the highest quality magnetic data.

Bartington Fluxgate Magnetometer
|
|
|
To achieve quality compensation New-Sense Geophysics uses the
Bartington
Mag-03 Three Axis Magnetic Field Sensors.
These compact, high performance fluxgate magnetometers
with integral electronics provide reliable precision measurements of static and
non-static magnetic fields in three orthogonal axes

FreeFlight TRA-3500 Radar Altimeter System
|
|
|
The
FreeFlight TRA-3500
real-time radar altimeter system offers an extra measure
of operational safety
during landing, navigation, and hovering. In addition
the TRA 3500 provides 5% accuracy from 0 to 2500 ft. (0 to 762 m) allowing
New-Sense Geophysics to produce high quality Distal Terrain Models (DTM).

Post Flight Compensation
|
|
|
Compensation of our Fixed-wing and Helicopter systems is provided using post flight compensation.
Our algorithm used a 18 term solution yielding robust reliable results.
Typical fixed wing tail compensation results in FOM values of between 0.75 and 1.5 depending on the aircraft
and magnetic latitude. Helicopter stinger FOM results vary from 1.5 to lass than 2.5 depending on the
helicopter type and magnetic latitude. Our compensation delivers low maneuver noise data
comparable or better than any other system in use in the industry today resulting in the highest
quality magnetic data.

iBASE Cesium Base Station
|
|
|
The New-Sense Geophysics iBASE base station system features an identical computer pakage to
the iDAS survey system with a wide range DC voltage input. The iBASE is normally
powered using any 12 volt car battery making it possible to position the system in remote locations.
The system records GPS using a 12 channel GPS receiver. The magnetic signal is provided by a
Scintrex
CS-3 Magentomter sensor although the system may also be connected to a GEM Systems GSM-19 Proton Magnetometer.
At left is a picture of our iBASE system on survey in Argentina and the "mouse-over" image

New-Sense Helicopter Stinger System
|
|
|
For helicoter surveys New-Sense Geophysics employs their own newly designed
low noise stinger system. The stinger has been certified (STC)  for instillation on Bell 206 helicopters
and the full line of EuroCopters Astar helicopters including the 350B3 high altitude version. The stinger
systems offers a safer survey environment by elimination the traditional towed bird system.
Typical FOM values for the system range from 1.5 for the Bell 206 to under 2.5 for the Astar 350B3,
delivering high quality data from a
safer platform. The photo on the left
shows our stinger mounted on a Bell 206 on survey in Chile.

New-Sense Geophysics offers a wide variety of fixed wing types and configurations
including single tail stinger systems and several combinations of wingtip and tail
gradiometer arrays. At left a Cessna 206 wing tip stinger configuration on survey in Paraguay
and the "mouse-over" image shows our system installed in a Tri-Axial array on a Piper Navajo
Aircraft flying over head on a project in Turkey.
